July Videos

A few videos for everyone to see just how big Margaret is getting. We love going on hikes, but they do take a while (as you can see). She's also into dancing, music and her blocks. Constantly exploring. We are having so much fun together.

Oak Creek

Today we decided to go down to Sedona with Maureen to meet our friend Ruth and go for a hike. Well, the high elevation people that we are, we did not enjoy arriving to 97* heat. Instead, we went to Oak Creek to a special place off the beaten track. The air was hot, we sat in the shade and played in the water. Seeing that it wasn't planned, mommy didn't bring a swim diaper. No worries, we just took our diaper off and played in our shorts. It was so much fun on a hot day and Margaret was overjoyed to explore. We saw crayfish, other fish, birds, awesome rocks and a dog. All and all a good day and it was wonderful to return home to 60*. Flagstaff is a great place to be.

Touch the Truck

This weekend we went as a family to Touch the Truck Day down at City Hall. For 4 hours on Sat. all the trucks you can think of came and parked in the lot and little kids could check them out. There was a helicopter, city bus, huge snow plow, army trucks from Camp Navajo, ambulance, bomb squad, etc. You get the idea. Anyway, Margaret loved it, especially the garbage truck.

Lava Tubes

This past weekend Margaret and I went with Will, Kellen and Mei to visit the lava tubes. It is an awesome cave not 15 min from the house that was created from cooling lava. It is a constant 40*F and fun to do on a hot summer day. That's why we're all bundled up and wearing hats and jackets. Afterward at the end of the cave we shared snacks, picked up sticks and watched dumb rednecks do dumb redneck things. All and all a good day that ended with gelato.

4th of July

We had such an awesome 4th of July. Margaret, Stacey and I went down to the parade on our bikes. Margaret was in awe of the horses, doggies, tractors and all things small town that show up in 4th of July parades. She sat right on the sidelines waving her flag.

After the parade we went to a BBQ. Margaret of course had to change out of her first outfit because she go so dirty and into her second of the day. Both fit the theme of the day. This little car was a huge hit and great for mommy and daddy. We were able to have a few beers while she played and played. There were tons of other kids, food and fun outdoor toys. The whole family had a wonderful time. Thanks Bower family for having us!

Margaret and I made blueberry muffins over the weekend. She is the 5th generation lady to use the recipe. Kind of hard to believe.

Summer Days

Talking on the phone while brushing her teeth post bath. She's very good at multitasking.

Our cool summer outfit on hot summer days.

Pre swim snack in the back of the car. We're watching the off road ambulance parked in the FAC lot. All the summer camp kids are visiting it and checking it out. I don't know if Margaret is more into the kids or the truck.

Early morning romp in the living room with Tigger. This is a onzie with shorts for sleeping. So cute!

Margaret just got some baby dolls from the Cobb family. They are a huge hit just like everything else they give us. They are her "babies".
